Demand Real Justice in the Wake of the Chauvin Verdict

Derek Chauvin’s verdict has brought a measure of relief; but our hearts remain heavy knowing that George Floyd, his family, and all who witnessed his murder were robbed of true justice. Moreover, even as the verdict was read, a few states over, another officer robbed a 16-year-old of her future. No verdict will ever make things right because nothing can ever bring George Floyd back to his daughter or Ma’Khia Bryant back to her mother, to name only two among those murdered by police.
